La Casa Roda is the ideal base to explore
this region of Spain. The Costa Calida is one of the most
beautiful coastlines in Spain with unspoilt beaches, secluded
coves and lively fishing ports, and an abundance of water
sports. Venturing inland into the Murcia province you’ll
encounter traditional Spanish towns and villages.
The region offers the opportunity to
experience the Mediterranean way of life. The waters of the Mar
Menor, “Little Sea” are recognised as being
therapeutic and famous for its mud baths at Lo Pagan. The
shallow waters and absence of tides make it a safe haven for
children and non-swimmers alike. Stroll along the promenades
and enjoy tapas and drinks at the many chiringuitos (beach
bars).
Along the shores of the Mar Menor nestle
characteristic Spanish towns each with their daily street
market and seasonal fiestas. A particular favourite of visitors
is the Sunday morning market
at Cabo de Palos, followed by a long, lazy Spanish lunch at one of the many port side restaurants.

In a truly unique location between two
seas, dividing the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean Sea, lies
La Manga strip, home to the private beach club.
The nature here is abundant with life:
flamingos and other migratory birds can be seen in the Las
Salinas Nature Park and Calblanque Nature reserve.
For city lovers the historic walled city of
Cartegena is 15 mins drive where you can take boat trips, shop
‘till you drop, and visit the tourist sites including the
recently discovered Roman amphitheatre.
